On the occasion of International Women’s Day 2026, Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, CON, has called on all stakeholders to intensify efforts toward the empowerment of women and girls across the country.
In her message marking the global celebration on March 8, the First Lady hailed the resilience, determination, and achievements of women, highlighting their central role in national development.
This year’s theme, “Rights. Justice. Action. For All Women and Girls,” underscores the need for tangible support for women’s access to education, healthcare, leadership opportunities, economic resources, and justice.
Tinubu stressed that such empowerment is an essential investment in Nigeria’s collective growth, not a mere act of charity.
“Empowering women strengthens families, fuels community development, and drives national progress. When women rise, Nigeria rises,” she stated.
She extended warm wishes to all women and girls, urging continued action to create a more inclusive and equitable society for present and future generations.
