…Commends Adunni for promoting inclusive leadership, providing enabling environment for inauguration
Alimosho Local Government Campaign Coordinator for PBAT and KOH, Akin Idowu Bashiru, has called for renewed unity, cooperation and purposeful leadership within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Mosan-Okunola LCDA following the inauguration of the newly elected Local Government Executive Committee and ward chairmen.
The inauguration, held at the Mosan-Okunola LCDA Secretariat on Thursday, October 29, 2026, was attended by party leaders, stakeholders and members of the party.
Bashiru commended the Executive Chairman of Mosan-Okunola LCDA, Hon. Akindele Adunni Opeyemi, popularly known as “Adunni in the Neighbourhood,” for providing the enabling environment and support for the successful exercise. He particularly welcomed her emphasis on inclusive leadership and discouraging caucus politics, favouritism and divisive tendencies.
He also acknowledged Chief Abel Badejo, pioneer Council Chairman of Mosan-Okunola and former Chairman of Chairmen in Lagos State; Alhaji Yisa Yusuf; former party chairman, Mrs. Rebecca Onasanya; and other stakeholders for their messages promoting discipline, loyalty and collective responsibility.
Describing the inauguration as an opportunity for a fresh beginning, Bashiru urged party members to move beyond personal differences and prioritise the collective interests of the APC.
He charged the new executives and ward chairmen to embrace consultation, fairness and stakeholder engagement, stressing that party positions should be regarded as responsibilities of service.
He particularly emphasised cooperation among the party chairman, vice-chairman and secretary, whom he described as the three principal anchors of the local government party leadership. He urged them to respect the party’s constitution, discharge their respective responsibilities and maintain constructive working relationships with the Executive Chairman, Hon. Akindele Adunni Opeyemi, and other stakeholders.
On the 2027 general elections, Bashiru stressed the need for a coordinated and functional party structure extending from the local government through the LCDAs and wards to the polling units.
He maintained that genuine reconciliation must translate into practical cooperation, stronger grassroots engagement and a shared commitment to the party’s objectives.
He expressed confidence that renewed unity and reconciliation would strengthen the APC’s organisational capacity and grassroots presence, providing a stronger foundation for the party’s 2027 electoral preparations across Mosan-Okunola and the wider Alimosho constituency.
He urged all stakeholders to seize the opportunity to rebuild trust, deepen internal cohesion and work towards the party’s collective progress.
