The Chairman of Ayobo-Ipaja Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Bola Shobowale, has passed away after a prolonged illness that had kept her away from office for nearly a year.
Her death comes just three days after Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, appointed the council’s Vice Chairman, Oladipupo Oluwaloni, as the Acting Chairman to fill the leadership vacuum that had hampered administrative activities in the LCDA.
The move was seen as a necessary step to address administrative setbacks caused by Shobowale’s absence.
A dedicated advocate for grassroots development, Shobowale was known for her efforts in improving infrastructure, social welfare, and economic empowerment within the community.
Her leadership left a lasting impact, and news of her passing has prompted an outpouring of condolences from residents, political associates, and community stakeholders.
As Oluwaloni assumes full leadership of the LCDA, attention now turns to sustaining governance and honoring Shobowale’s legacy.
The state government and council authorities are expected to announce funeral arrangements and official tributes in the coming days.
