The Democracy and Good Governance Watch Initiative (DGGWI), a coalition of civil society organisations, has congratulated Hon. Tayo Akinmade Ayinde on his appointment as the Lagos State Coordinator of the Support Group Directorate of the Presidential Campaign Council of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement signed by its Convener, Gbenga Soloki, and Co-Conveners, Nelson Ekujumi and Ajayi Popoola, the group described Ayinde’s appointment as “a round peg in a round hole,” citing his years of experience as an administrator, loyal party member and accomplished public servant.
DGGWI said Ayinde, who serves as Chief of Staff to the Lagos State Government, had distinguished himself through effective administration, discipline and a results-driven approach to governance.
“Over the years, Hon. Ayinde has proven himself as a dependable administrator, a loyal party man and a quiet achiever. As Chief of Staff, Lagos State Government, he has been the engine room of governance. He does not seek the spotlight, but results follow him,” the group said.
The coalition expressed confidence that Ayinde’s wealth of experience, charisma, discipline and deep understanding of Lagos politics would enable him to effectively coordinate the various support groups and deliver a strong outcome for the party’s campaign.
It noted that Lagos, widely regarded as the Centre of Excellence, had consistently played a leading role in political campaigns and expressed optimism that Ayinde’s leadership of the directorate would further strengthen the state’s position.
DGGWI also commended the leadership of the Campaign Council for what it described as an excellent choice, while wishing Ayinde success in his new assignment.
