Former Chairman of Agege Local Government, High Chief (Alh.) Ganiyu Kola Egunjobi (JP), has been appointed as the Renewed Hope Ambassador Coordinator for Agege Federal Constituency.
The appointment was conveyed in a letter dated February 11, 2026, and signed by the Lagos State Renewed Hope Ambassador, Mr. Tayo Ayinde. According to the letter, the decision followed an assessment of Egunjobi’s leadership experience, administrative record, loyalty to progressive ideals, and grassroots influence.

A source within the state leadership described the appointment as a strategic move aimed at strengthening grassroots mobilisation and reinforcing party structures across the constituency. The source noted that the choice was based on competence, structure building capacity, and proven grassroots connectivity.
In his new role, Egunjobi is expected to coordinate ward and polling unit structures within Agege Federal Constituency, promote internal cohesion, ensure adherence to lawful directives, and deepen stakeholder engagement in line with the Renewed Hope agenda.

“The task ahead requires discipline, unity and strategic mobilisation. We are confident that Egunjobi possesses the experience and capacity to galvanise our structures effectively,” the statement said.
Reacting to his appointment, Egunjobi expressed appreciation to the leadership for the confidence reposed in him, describing the role as a call to greater service.

“Our focus will be on strengthening ward structures, expanding participation, and ensuring that the Renewed Hope agenda resonates meaningfully at the grassroots,” he said.
He also pledged to prioritise inclusiveness and unity while expanding the reach of the initiative across the constituency.
Egunjobi extended gratitude to the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, for his mentorship and support. He also appreciated the Executive Chairman of Agege Local Government, Hon. Abdul-Ganiyu Vinod Obasa, for his encouragement and continued collaboration.

In addition, he acknowledged the immediate past Executive Chairman of Orile-Agege LCDA, Hon. Johnson Sunday Babatunde, for what he described as sustained partnership and shared commitment to public service.
Political stakeholders in Agege have described the appointment as timely, citing Egunjobi’s experience in local governance and established political network as factors that could strengthen the movement’s presence in the constituency.
Observers say the development reflects ongoing efforts by the Renewed Hope Ambassadors to consolidate grassroots structures across Lagos State through strategic appointments in key constituencies.
