The Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), Ikeja Branch, has reaffirmed its commitment to professional excellence, collaboration and social responsibility with a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) outreach and a courtesy visit to the Acting Auditor-General for Lagos State, Dr. Olufunke Omolara Tayo-Makanjuola.
The branch chairman, Mr. Ekundayo Omitaomu, FCNA, disclosed this during the association’s courtesy visit to Tayo-Makanjuola to congratulate her on her appointment.

Omitaomu commended the Acting Auditor-General’s professional accomplishments and wished her success in her new position.
The visit followed the branch’s CSR outreach to Babs Salam Orphanage Home, where foodstuffs and household items were donated under its ANAN Cares initiative, themed, “Shaping Lasting Impacts Through Accountable Leadership.”
The outreach formed part of a nationwide CSR exercise conducted simultaneously across ANAN branches and reflected the association’s commitment to extending its core values of accountability, integrity and service beyond the accounting profession.
While expressing gratitude to the association for the donations, the Director of Babs Salam Orphanage Home, Alhaji Hassan Idris Tahir, said the items would go a long way in catering to the needs of the orphanage’s students.
In her remarks, Tayo-Makanjuola expressed delight at receiving the delegation, describing the visit by the association’s elders and members as a great honour.
She thanked the delegation for taking the time to celebrate her appointment, noting that the gesture was particularly significant given her professional affiliation with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).
The Acting Auditor-General also paid tribute to one of ANAN’s elders, Mr. Oladimeji, whom she described as a father figure who had played a significant role in her professional journey and contributed immensely to her career advancement.
She acknowledged his generosity and positive influence on auditors and accountants, stressing that his contributions and professional legacy continued to benefit practitioners in the field.
Tayo-Makanjuola emphasised the importance of unity and collaboration among accounting professionals, irrespective of their affiliations or whether they worked primarily as accountants or auditors.
She said both groups needed one another to achieve their collective objectives and urged members to uphold the highest standards of professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
Earlier, Omitaomu commended the Acting Auditor-General for suspending protocol, explaining that the primary purpose of the visit was to congratulate her on her appointment. He also conveyed the goodwill of ANAN’s national leadership.
The branch chairman recalled that, while reviewing the branch’s records during his tenure as secretary, he discovered that Tayo-Makanjuola had previously served as chairman of the branch’s Dinner Committee.
He described her tenure as one of the branch’s most successful, highlighting her longstanding contributions to the association.
Omitaomu also appealed for greater opportunities for members who had not previously attended the association’s conferences to participate, while acknowledging the support extended to members by the Office of the Auditor-General.
As part of the branch’s recommendations, he requested that two officials be nominated to represent the Office of the Auditor-General at ANAN Ikeja Branch. In response, the Acting Auditor-General nominated Mrs. Oyaleke Feyikemi and Mr. Tokunbo Raheem.
The chairman also invited Tayo-Makanjuola to the branch’s Dinner and Award Night scheduled for December 4, 2026, at Marquee Hall. He said the chairman of the Dinner Committee and other committee members would formally present the invitation and accompanying letter to her.
During the visit, elders of the association took turns to congratulate the Acting Auditor-General on her achievement and offer prayers for wisdom, strength and success in her new position.
The twin engagements, the CSR outreach to Babs Salam Orphanage Home and the courtesy visit to the Acting Auditor-General, highlight ANAN Ikeja Branch’s commitment to translating its professional values into meaningful social impact while strengthening relationships and promoting excellence within the accounting and auditing profession.
