The Chairman of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area, Oladotun Olakanle, has passed away, as reported by thegazellenews.com.
The well-regarded leader died early on Saturday, 2 November 2024, under circumstances that remain unclear.
Olakanle was actively serving his community just a day before his passing, overseeing the distribution of vehicles to police stations across his council area on Friday, 1 November.
He was also seen at the burial ceremony of Dr. Adesola Taiwo, a prominent APC chieftain and CEO of Adefemi Taiwo Hospitals, on Thursday, 31 October.
“He and I attended a party together on Thursday. His death is still shocking to me,” a close friend told thegazellenews.com.
This marks the second time a sitting chairman of Onigbongbo LCDA has passed away while in office during their second term, following the loss of Olakanle’s predecessor, Babatunde Oke, who also died mid-term.
