Director of Women Mobilisation of the APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Dr Betta Edu, has expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will secure re-election in 2027, declaring that the party’s women wing is already mobilising millions of votes across the country for the President.
Edu also commended the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for spearheading a structured women mobilisation and empowerment campaign aimed at strengthening the APC’s grassroots support ahead of the 2027 general elections.
She spoke on Monday at the 2026 Pre-Inaugural Women’s Summit and Empowerment Programme held at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja.
The summit, convened by the First Lady, was organised under the theme, “Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0: From Reforms to Prosperity – One Voice, One Movement, One Choice, One Mandate 2027.”
Edu said the scale of the mobilisation being coordinated by the First Lady had positioned APC women to play a decisive role in delivering victory for Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima in 2027.
She said the mobilisation structures were being activated across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, extending to the 774 local government areas, wards, communities and polling units.
According to her, the campaign is targeting 40 million women’s votes, stressing that the objective goes beyond election rallies to building a sustained grassroots network capable of taking the administration’s policies and programmes directly to communities.
“We are moving into the 2027 electoral season with purpose, structure, and determination. Our target is 40 million women’s votes, and we are building the organisation required to achieve it. President Tinubu will win again,” Edu said.
She described the First Lady’s mobilisation and empowerment initiative as a major step towards giving women a stronger voice in the political process while creating opportunities for them in enterprise, agriculture, skills development, governance and community development.
Edu said the APC women’s wing would remain united and focused on securing a renewed mandate for Tinubu, declaring: “40 Million Women Votes! One Coordinated Mobilisation! One Voice, One Movement, One Mandate for 2027.”
The gathering also witnessed a lively display of support for the President when Edu led participants in the chant, “Winner! Oh, oh, oh! Winner! Jagaban! You don win o!”
The chant drew the First Lady, wife of the Vice President, wife of the Senate President, more than 30 wives of state governors and other dignitaries to their feet as they joined the celebration.
The event also featured the empowerment of women beneficiaries with various support items to strengthen their livelihoods. The First Lady presented some of the items, including motorbikes and farm trucks, to beneficiaries.
The summit was attended by the wife of the Vice President, Hajia Nana Shettima; Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari; Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma; former APC National Chairman, Umar Abdullahi Ganduje; members of the PCC Women Mobilisation Directorate, women leaders from the 36 states and the FCT, support groups and civil society organisations.
The First Lady also held a closed-door meeting with female APC candidates and other dignitaries on the sidelines of the programme.
