As the Christian faithful in Nigeria and across the world begin the observance of Lent, the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, has called for a period of deep reflection, prayer, and acts of kindness.

In a message released to mark the Lenten season, Senator Tinubu emphasized the significance of this sacred period as a time for repentance, supplication, and good deeds, urging Nigerians to follow Christ’s example of love and selflessness.

“I urge us to use this period to draw closer to Christ, show kindness to others, and deepen our commitment to serving others,” she said.

The First Lady also stressed the importance of national unity and spiritual intercession, encouraging Nigerians to pray for peace and prosperity in the country.

She expressed optimism that through collective efforts and divine guidance, Nigeria would attain greatness on the global stage.

“Let us walk together in the light of Christ, with hope in our hearts and compassion for all. We should also remember our dear nation, Nigeria, in prayers for peace and prosperity, as we all build together a nation that will take her place among the comity of nations,” she added.

She wished Nigerians a blessed and spiritually rewarding Lenten season, urging them to embrace the virtues of sacrifice and renewal during this sacred period.
