The grants were in collaboration with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria, SMEDAN.

While speaking at the event Senator TINUBU said the beneficiaries who were given a minimum of N100,000 have earlier been trained in various vocational  skills.

Senator TINUBU also disclosed that all the beneficiaries are provided with one year health insurance cover under the Lagos Health Management Agency.

The Chairman of SMEDAN, FEMI PEDRO said the initiative was aimed at empowering the people to reduce poverty level in the country.

He believe that with good use of the grants, the beneficiaries can also become employer of labour soon.

In their response, some of the beneficiaries stressed the need for more of such initiatives that will have positive impacts on the lives of people at the grassroots.
