The newly sworn-in Chairman of Alimosho Local Government, Hon. Akinpelu Ibrahim Johnson, has assured residents of a transformative leadership anchored on the Wise Agenda — a blueprint aimed at delivering tangible results and improving the quality of life across the council area.
Hon. Akinpelu made this known during a colourful reception held in his honour at the Alimosho Local Government Secretariat.
The event was attended by his Vice Chairman, Hon. Francis Adebisi, party stalwarts, community leaders, and residents, who gathered to celebrate the beginning of a new chapter for the largest local government in Lagos State.
In his address, Hon. Akinpelu expressed deep appreciation for the overwhelming support received during the campaign, reaffirming his administration’s readiness to deliver on every promise made.
“Our Wise Agenda is about tangible results and improving the quality of life for Alimosho residents,” he declared. “We will prioritize the needs of our people, driving progress and development in our local government.”
A core part of the Wise Agenda, he revealed, is a comprehensive focus on youth empowerment, through strategic skills acquisition programs, job creation schemes, and capacity-building initiatives tailored to tap into the vast potential of Alimosho’s vibrant young population.
Women’s empowerment also features prominently on his development plan. The Chairman announced that women across Alimosho will benefit from access to economic support, entrepreneurial resources, and welfare initiatives that promote independence and stability.
As part of efforts to ensure food security, Akinpelu pledged to boost agricultural development by investing in mechanized farming and offering subsidies to local farmers — a move he said will not only reduce hunger but stimulate the grassroots economy.
“Our administration will uphold transparency, accountability, and responsiveness. We will engage the people directly and govern with fairness, integrity, and empathy. With God’s guidance and the continuous support of the good people of Alimosho, we are confident that our local government will become a shining example of what good governance looks like,” Akinpelu assured.
