As the countdown to the local government elections continues, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairmanship candidate for Alimosho Local Government, Akinpelu Ibrahim, has stepped up his grassroots engagement with a visit to Ward B, Shasha Ilupeju, where he met with residents and stakeholders to canvass support and outline his development agenda.
The visit, which drew party loyalists, community leaders, and residents, served as a rallying point to energize the base ahead of the polls.
Addressing the gathering, the APC Chairman for Alimosho Local Government, Hon. Tosin Fatoki, emphasized the importance of unity and voter turnout in the coming election. “We are here to introduce our candidates for the forthcoming local government election. Hon. Akinpelu Ibrahim is our chairmanship flagbearer, with Hon. Francis Adebisi as his running mate, alongside our committed councillorship candidates. Your support is crucial, especially at this time. Our candidates have prepared robust plans tailored to the needs of the Shasha Ilupeju community,” he said.
Also speaking at the event, the outgoing Chairman of Alimosho Local Government, Hon. Jelili Sulaimon, urged residents to entrust the APC candidates with the mandate to build on the achievements of the current administration. “We’ve laid a solid foundation. Akinpelu and his team have the competence and vision to take Alimosho to greater heights,” he said.
In his remarks, Hon. Akinpelu Ibrahim thanked the people of Ward B for their warm reception and pledged to give priority attention to the development of Shasha Ilupeju and the entire Alimosho Local Government.
“We are committed to transforming Alimosho into a model of excellence. Our plans include modern infrastructure, quality education, enhanced healthcare services, and community-driven agricultural programs. We intend to launch a funding scheme for interested farmers, with government buying their produce and selling to residents at subsidized rates. Within our first 100 days, we will also roll out a ₦100 financial support initiative for small-scale traders to strengthen their businesses,” he announced.
The campaign stop in Ward B marks a key moment in Akinpelu’s quest for the chairmanship seat, as he continues to build momentum through direct engagement and a promise of inclusive, people-oriented governance.
