As the countdown to the Alimosho Local Government elections gathers pace, the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship candidate, Akinpelu Ibrahim Johnson, and his running mate, Hon. Francis Adebisi, are solidifying their grassroots appeal with strategic visits to traditional leaders across the local government area.
In a key move to bolster the momentum of their W.I.S.E. AGENDA campaign, the duo, accompanied by key party stalwarts, paid a courtesy visit to the Oba of Shasha, Oba Babatunde Nasiru Ogunronbi, on Friday.
The revered monarch, known for his influential voice and deep-rooted connection with the community, welcomed them warmly and expressed confidence in their ability to provide purposeful leadership in Alimosho.
Oba Ogunronbi lauded their commitment to community development and assured them of his blessings and support in the forthcoming elections.
Following the royal engagement, the campaign train proceeded to Ward D in Alimosho, where Akinpelu and Adebisi interacted with residents, youth groups, and stakeholders.
They articulated their vision for the local government, with key focus areas including infrastructure renewal, quality education, improved healthcare delivery, youth empowerment, and economic opportunities for artisans and traders.
The warm reception they received in Ward D further boosted their confidence, as residents expressed appreciation for their grassroots-oriented message and pragmatic approach to governance.
Continuing their outreach to traditional institutions, Akinpelu and Adebisi visited the Oba of Orisunbare Kingdom, Oba Akeeb Adebowale Rauf, who also embraced their visit with enthusiasm.
The monarch commended their humility and leadership readiness, pledging his support and that of the Orisunbare Kingdom for their campaign.
The visit also drew participation from the Prestige Club of Orisunbare, a respected socio-cultural group within the community. In a symbolic gesture of support, the club presented campaign materials to Akinpelu and Adebisi, signaling a clear endorsement of their candidacy.
The backing from both royal fathers and key community groups reflects growing grassroots support for the APC candidates and affirms their campaign’s reach across Alimosho’s diverse socio-political landscape.
Speaking after the engagements, Akinpelu reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive leadership. “We recognize the importance of our royal fathers and traditional institutions. Their blessings and guidance are essential in our journey to reposition Alimosho for greatness,” he said.
As the election date draws closer, Akinpelu and Adebisi remain focused on delivering a message of hope, transformation, and responsible governance, with strong backing from royal institutions, community stakeholders, and party faithful.
With momentum clearly on their side, the APC team appears poised for a strong showing at the polls, banking on the power of unity, traditional alliances, and a clear developmental blueprint to win the trust of Alimosho residents.
