Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Alimosho Federal Constituency have unveiled consensus candidates for key legislative positions ahead of the 2027 general elections, with Ganiyu Adele Ayuba, Luqman Olatunji Orelope, and Kehinde Joseph securing the backing of party leaders.

Ayuba emerged as the party’s consensus candidate for the House of Representatives following consultations among leaders and grassroots stakeholders.

Party sources said his emergence reflects confidence in his capacity to represent the constituency effectively at the National Assembly.

At the state level, Orelope was adopted as the consensus candidate for Alimosho Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, while Joseph clinched the ticket for Alimosho Constituency II.

Both candidates were described as having strong grassroots appeal and established political structures within their constituencies.

The consensus arrangement received the endorsement of prominent party figures, including former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Princess Joke Orelope-Adefulire; apex leader in Alimosho, Hon. Bisi Yusuf; and the Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Hon. Akinyemi Bankole Ajigbotafe, among others.

The adoption meeting drew a large turnout of party stakeholders, including all six Local Government and Local Council Development Area (LCDA) chairmen in the constituency.

Those in attendance were Akinpelu Ibrahim Johnson (Alimosho Local Government), Lasisi Akinsanya (Igando-Ikotun LCDA), Abiodun Agbaje (Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA), Abiodun Ejigbadero (Agbado/Oke-Odo LCDA), Hon. Akindele Adunni Opeyemi (Mosan-Okunola LCDA), and Idris Balogun (Egbe-Idimu LCDA).

The 36 councillors across the councils were also present, alongside party faithful and grassroots mobilisers.

Leaders at the meeting noted that the adoption of consensus candidates has reduced internal contestation, strengthened unity within the party, and positioned the constituency for a coordinated campaign ahead of 2027.

They expressed optimism that the move would boost voter mobilisation and enhance the party’s electoral performance, particularly in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
