In a major offensive against crude oil theft, troops of Operation Delta Safe have dismantled 56 illegal refining sites, seizing over 675,000 litres of stolen crude oil and 312,000 litres of illegally refined diesel (AGO) within a week.
Disclosing the operation’s success, Maj.-Gen. Markus Kangye revealed that the crackdown also led to the arrest of 31 suspected oil thieves and the recovery of 103 assorted arms and ammunition.
The military’s intensified air surveillance and targeted operations across key areas in the Niger Delta have significantly disrupted criminal networks, reinforcing national security and economic stability.
