The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) announced on Wednesday that it had sealed several churches and recreational centers for noise pollution violations across the state.
In a statement shared on its ‘X’ handle, LASEPA explained that “as part of ongoing efforts to combat noise pollution and other environmental infractions, enforcement teams closed multiple establishments in areas including Ogudu, Gbagada, Iyana Ejigbo, Isolo, Ajao Estate, Oshodi, Ilasamaja, and Okota.”
The affected establishments include Honourable Lounge & Lodging, Redeemed Christian Church of God, Celestial Church of God, OMA Night Club and Lounge, Bridge Spot Bar, Okiki Event Centre and Hall, Emota Paradise Hotel (Phase 2), CF Hotel & Suites, House 27 Hotel & Suites, Echo Spring Hotel, and Smile T Continental Hotel.
LASEPA stated that these businesses had repeatedly violated environmental regulations despite prior warnings.
Emphasizing its zero-tolerance approach to non-compliance, LASEPA urged all establishments to fulfill their environmental obligations to support a cleaner, more sustainable Lagos.
