A Lagos State governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, Dr. Samuel Mawuyon Ajose, has declared that he is mobilising massive electoral support for the party and President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Ajose said he is confident of securing no fewer than 3.5 million votes from members of the Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide in Lagos State, describing the church as a critical voting bloc that cannot be overlooked in the political landscape.

He made the statement during a Special Easter Service held at the church’s international headquarters in Makoko, where a large congregation gathered to mark the Christian celebration.

Speaking after the service, Ajose noted the impressive turnout of worshippers and emphasised the influence of the church in shaping electoral outcomes. He added that the prayers offered during the service focused on national unity, economic progress, and continued stability under President Tinubu’s leadership.

The APC chieftain also highlighted the distribution of food items to congregants as part of efforts to reflect the essence of Easter, which he described as a season of compassion and generosity. According to him, similar outreach initiatives have been extended to Muslim and traditional religious communities in recent times.

Reflecting on his personal connection to the church, Ajose described the Makoko headquarters as his place of birth, adding that his engagement with the congregation goes beyond politics. He assured that, if elected, his administration would prioritise inclusiveness and policies aimed at easing the burden on residents.

The Easter service was led by the Spiritual Head of the Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide, His Eminence, Rev. Emmanuel Mobiyina Friday Oshoffa.

Ajose was joined at the event by key members of his advisory and strategic team, including Chief Rasheed Shobaloju, Hon. Rafeequat Arinola Onabamiro, and Hon. Apesin Bola Gbabinjo.
