The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called on Nigerians to embrace peaceful coexistence, citing the Holy Bible which underscores unity as a prerequisite for prosperity.

She made the call in Kaduna during the annual distribution of food items to the Christian Northern Nigeria Political Forum (CNNPF) for the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

According to Senator Oluremi Tinubu, regardless of prevailing global narratives, she remains optimistic that developments will ultimately work for the good of the nation.

“Let us all stay and make Nigeria great again. Good things are already happening in this country,” she said.

She commended the efforts of the Kaduna State Governor toward achieving religious harmony in the state, noting that such initiatives should be emulated by other states across the country.

“I want to use this opportunity to call on all Nigerians to live in peace with one another and to be our brothers’ keepers. Let us remember that true nation-building is only possible where peace and harmony prevail. God, in His wisdom, placed us together for a purpose, and certainly not for conflict or division,” she added.

The First Lady also expressed gratitude to the Kaduna State Government for the warm reception accorded her.

“I would like to thank our host, the Governor of Kaduna State, His Excellency, Senator Uba Sani, and Her Excellency, the First Lady, Hajiya Hafsat Uba Sani, as well as the good people of Kaduna State, for their warm reception and great hospitality. Thank you for showing Nigerians how to live together harmoniously, irrespective of religious affiliation or ethnicity.”

Senator Tinubu also used the occasion to commend members of Nigeria’s creative industry for making the country proud globally. She urged them to collaborate with government in expanding opportunities for Nigerians.

“Our stars should please come and join us in building this nation. I am available if they want to partner with me,” she said.

In his remarks, the Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the First Lady as true lovers of Nigeria.

“Together, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Oluremi Tinubu exemplify leadership anchored in service, compassion, and national unity. Their shared commitment to the welfare of Nigerians continues to inspire confidence, strengthen social cohesion, and reaffirm our collective belief in a better, more inclusive future for our country,” he said.

Governor Sani further praised the First Lady’s inclusive philanthropy, noting that her compassion transcends religious, ethnic, and regional boundaries.

“What makes Her Excellency’s philanthropy particularly remarkable is its inclusiveness. Muslims and Christians alike have benefited from her generosity, reinforcing the truth that service to humanity transcends all divisions. Her example reminds us that the strength of a nation is not only measured by policies and institutions, but also by the kindness, empathy, and moral courage of its leaders,” he added.

The Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, also spoke in a similar vein, noting that Kaduna State is experiencing greater peace due to the determination and conscientious leadership of Governor Uba Sani, inspired by the example of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, assured Nigerians that with the various initiatives and programmes of the APC-led Federal Government and APC-governed states, the year 2026 will be better for the country.

The National Coordinator of the CNNPF, Ibrahim Itodo, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for sustaining national unity and prayed for the successful re-election of the President in 2027. He also urged Northern governors to adopt the Kaduna State model in promoting peaceful coexistence in their states.

The annual distribution of food items to the Christian Northern Nigeria Political Forum— a collaboration between the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political and Other Matters, Alhaji Ibrahim Masari, and the Office of the First Lady of Nigeria— recorded over 48,000 beneficiaries from 19 Northern states at this year’s edition.
