As the November 25, 2025, Anambra governorship election approaches, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced that aspirants seeking the party’s ticket must pay N50 million to obtain the nomination and expression of interest forms.
The party also released a detailed timetable for its primary election, highlighting key dates and activities leading up to the poll.
According to the schedule signed by APC National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Argungu, female aspirants and persons with disabilities will only be required to purchase the expression of interest form for N10 million, while the nomination form will be given to them free of charge. Additionally, young aspirants aged 25 to 40 will receive a 50% discount on the nomination form but must still pay for the expression of interest form.
Argungu stated that interested aspirants must visit the APC national headquarters in Wuse II, Abuja, between February 10 and 25 to purchase their forms. He noted that the party’s schedule aligns with the provisions of the Nigerian Constitution and the Electoral Act, as well as the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) timetable for the November 8, 2025, governorship election.
Per the APC’s timetable, the sale of forms will run from February 10 to 25, with February 26 set as the deadline for submission. Aspirants will undergo screening on March 7 and 8, with the results published on March 10. The Delegates Congress is scheduled for April 2, followed by the primary election on April 5. The ratification of results will take place on April 6, and the final list of candidates will be submitted to the party’s National Working Committee on April 8.
The APC’s official campaign will kick off on June 11, culminating in the grand finale on November 6.
The N50 million fee has sparked debate among party members, with some arguing that it could discourage grassroots politicians from participating. With INEC confirming November 8, 2025, as the election date, the APC is gearing up for a competitive race in Anambra State.
