Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen were on target for the Super Eagles of Nigeria in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against the Cheetahs of Benin Republic at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on Saturday.
Lookman opened the scoring in the first half, with Osimhen adding a second goal to extend Nigeria’s lead.
Lookman then sealed the victory with his second goal of the match, completing a 3-0 triumph for the Super Eagles.
Lookman, recently nominated for the FIFA Ballon d’Or award, was a standout performer at AFCON 2023, where his goals helped Nigeria secure a runners-up finish.
Osimhen, who endured a failed transfer on deadline day before joining Galatasaray on loan, linked up with his teammates on Thursday ahead of the match.
