The member representing Enugu State in the Federal Character Commission (FCC), Mrs Ginika Tor, has admitted being quizzed over allegation of certificate forgery.
Mrs Tor admitted this via a press statement she personally signed and released to the press while reacting to media report that she was grilled for many hours by the police at the Federal Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja.
A non-governmental organization, Nigerian Citizens Action Group (NCAG) had accused Mrs Tor of certificate forgery over her interrogation by the FCID.
According to the organization, Tor was grilled for several hours between 11am and 3.30pm on 24 February, 2024 by police at the FCID.
However reacting to the group’s media statement, Tor agreed that she was indeed invited by the police over the issue.
She however stated that she didn’t spent up to eight hours with the police.
“I was invited by the police and I went there on 24 February, 2024. I was given letter by the FCC seeking the police to investigate allegation of certificate forgery against me by an organization,” she admitted in her statement.
She also stated that the police told to state her own side of the story and that she wrote a statement and left about a hour later to attend a birthday party.
