A pro-democracy organization, Campaign for Dignity in Governance (CDG), has described the combination of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his deputy, Dr Kadir Obafemi Hamzat as God’s blessings for the people of Lagos State, saying, their compatibility is rubbing positively on the citizenry through unequalled dividends of democracy and unrivaled good governance.
Convener and National President of the group, Comrade Razaq Olokoba at a brief interaction with newsmen in Lagos Tuesday said Lagos said the democratic enjoyment the people of Lagos are experiencing could rightly be attributed to the smooth relationship between the governor and his deputy, pointing out that, “frictions between some governors and their deputies across the country have sadly caused some setbacks to the states experiencing the fracas!”
Congratulating the people of the state on being blessed by God with Sanwo-Olu and Hamzat, Olokoba, who also felicitated them for using their votes for their destiny during the governorship election said, “one could not imagine what would have been the fate of the state by now if an inexperienced political non-starter had mistakenly found his way to the Alausa seat of power!” thanking God for His divine intervention that saved the state from what could have resulted to political calamity and economic disaster.
The CDG boss also congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on having his compatible twin sons at the helm of affairs in the state where he has laid a solid foundation for political stability and economic sanity, reasoning that, “the smooth operations of the duo must have given the President the rest of mind to be more focussed on the onerous task of national assignment he was given a mandate to handle.”
Olokoba said the Sanwo-Olu/Hamzat feat in Lagos deserves celebration and praise-singing because, according him, it is not a gain-saying that, the political stability of Lagos is unarguably the political stability of Nigeria just as the economic viability of Lagos, as the commercial nerve centre of the nation is the economic viability of the whole of Nigeria, urging that, “the twin brothers at the seat of power in Lagos therefore need maximum support, assistance and cooperation with a view to encouraging them to dish out more dividends of democracy to the good people of the state.”
Against this backdrop, the CDG Convener and National President therefore urged the people and residents of the state to double their support for them most especially to make the promise of a better second term become a reality for the general interest of the citizenry, cautioning that, nobody in the state should therefore engage in any act of sabotage or blackmail to distract them in the collective interest of all and sundry.
“In Lagos State, it’s a case of compassionate boss and loyal deputy in power,” Olokoba concluded.
