A pro-democracy and human right organization, Speak Out 24/7 has commended Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu on his foresightedness to return some members of his last cabinet to be part of the new set saying, it is a development that tallies with the aspirations of the greater percentage of the people of Lagos State.
In a statement released to the media Friday, August 18 signed by the group’s spokesman, Comrade Adekunle Adeosun on behalf of the Convener of the organization, Comrade Razaq Olokoba mentioned among the returnees; Mrs Aramide Adeyooye, who was the Governor’s Special Adviser on Works and Infrastructure, Professor Akin Abayomi, former Commissioner of Health, Mr. Gbenga Omotosho Commissioner for Information and Strategy among others.
Adeosun explained that, with these re-appointed ones teaming up with the new blood being infused into the cabinet list, Sanwo-Olu’s promise of a better second term appears a done deal, saying, going by the roles they played during critical periods in the first term, strategy for improvement for second term has been practically been established.
Giving examples, the statement did not forget to inform the vital role standard infrastructure play in the growth of any country worldwide, so, Aramide Adeyooye’s duties as the governor’s Adviser in the first term could not be overlooked as she gave correct advice at the right time and Lagos is good for it believing that, her second coming would amount to heeding to the clarion call for more hard work for better results.
On Akin Abayomi, a Professor of medicine, Adeosun said, the importance of his duty during the deadly COVID-19 pandemic still remains in the memory of all, reasoning that, his expertise which assisted the governor to save Lagos and the whole world has made his reappointment a most welcome idea by the populace just as he praised the governor for being sensitive to the feelings and yearning of his people.
On Gbenga Omotosho, the government megaphone, Adeosun gave the governor a pat on the back for not forgetting the very man that highlighted his achievements and his superlative performances to the whole world that thereby resulted into correct assessment of him and thus paved way for his second term saying, Omotosho’s second coming is a deserved reward for a job well done in the first term.
While felicitating with the people of Lagos on their luck for having a person like Sanwo-Olu as governor, Adekunle Adeosun of the Speak-Out 24/7 group, therefore appealed to them to double their support for and cooperation with Governor Sanwo-Olu and his new incoming team the way they did for him in his first term so as to enable him to fulfil his promised better second term having in mind that, “the Sanwo-Olu we all know and admire is a man who walks his talk.”
