A Lagos based pro-democracy outfit, Pan Lagos Youth Movement (PLYM), an affiliate of the National Independent Campaign for Tinubu (NICOT) and Sanwo-Olu for Governor Again (SAFOGA), has said that, President Muhammadu Buhari’s scheduled two-day working visit to Lagos State on Sunday Saturday January 22 and Sunday 23, will silence the opposition in the state permanently.
Both NICOT and SAFOGA are under the leadership of the Chief Campaigner, Comrade Razaq Olokoba, a chartered Public Administrator, Management and Security Consultant.
Convener of the Movement, Ogbeni Adewale Oladipupo said, the reason for saying so is that, the President would have a lot on his hand when commissioning a lot of iconic development projects in the state executed by the workaholic governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, saying, “Even the opposition in the state, if any, would realise that, Sanwo-Olu the state needs no alternative to him in the coming March 11, gubernatorial poll.”
According to Oladipupo, the indigenes of the state, who have been monitoring Sanwo-Olu’s performance and achievement in office since 2019 have even lost count of his efforts at moving the state forward, adding that, “Buhari’s visit will no doubt blow Sanwo-Olu’s worth beyond the shore of Nigeria and this will send jitters to the spines of any so called opposition in the state.”
The Movement boss however asserted that, that will not however blind us to the need for collection of Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs), because of its importance to elections anywhere in the world stating that, “we have started the sensitisation long time ago and we will not relent in our efforts towards intensifying the struggle to make collection of the vital electoral weapon a huge success.”
According to him, the sensitization on the collection of the PVC is going along with campaign for the enthronement of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Second term in office for Sanwo-Olu and victory for all the APC candidates across board for February 25 and March 31, 2023.
For the umpteen times, Oladipupo reminded that, since the importance of PVC in any electoral contest ca never be over emphasized, he urged the people of the state and across the contry to obtain theirs and vote for Tinubu for president, Sanwo-Olu for Lagos Governor as well as for all other candidates of the APC across Nigeria for good governance and abundant of democracy dividends.
