A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress and leading senatorial aspirant for Lagos West Senatorial District, Senator Musiliu Olatunde Obanikoro, has congratulated Muslim faithfuls as they mark this year’s Eid-el-Fitr celebration, with an admonition to them to sustain the lessons of forgiveness, love, unity, peace and hope taught by the holy month of Ramadan.
The two time Minister, in a statement by his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Sulaimon Adebiyi, expressed that, on the completion of the fast, Islamic faithfuls are expected to take advantage of the festivity to reflect and intensify prayers for the peace, security, unity and progress of the country.
“I enjoin Muslims to imbibe from the enduring lessons of the Holy Month, and allow the spiritual benefits of the religious obligations to permeate and positively influence their attitudes towards a better society.
“Let us apply the lessons of self-control, discipline, sacrifice and perseverance, derived from fasting in the month of Ramadan, which seeks to strengthen our relationship with Allah (SWT); promote a life of sacrifice, charity and love for one another”, he said.
