Frontline pro-democracy activist and human rights activist, Comrade Razaq Olokoba has commended the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for harkening to the voice of patriotism by declaring his intention to serve the good people of the second for a second term in office.

Olokoba, in a media chat in Lagos weekend was reacting to the report that the governor, at last has obtained a second term form to continue his good work he started in 2019, saying, “now that he has harkened to the voices of patriotism from across the state and beyond, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu has proved to be a listening administrator who deserves to be assisted nd supported till the end.”

The vocal political observer and Naitional President of the Campaign for Dignity in Governance (CDG), thanked the governor “for not disappointing us and putting us his teeming fans and admirers to shame,” reminding that, “for quite some times in the recent past, we, in the Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), have been agitating towards his declaration for a second term in office, not because we are members of any political party, but because of the benefits his doing so will bring to the generality of the citizenry.”

According to him, genuine members of the CSOs should support any agenda that would be of benefit of the people as well as whoever is behind such an agenda, saying, “since Sanwo-Olu has proved since 2019 that he is a pro-people with his numerous people’s centred programmes, we have decided to support him and assist him in his onerous task of state building.”

Speaking further, the die-hard political observer and public commentator also praised the respectable members of the Governance advisory Council (GAC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who paved the way towards the governor’s declaration through their endorsement of Sanwo-Olu for another four years last week, saying, “the GAC members have proved beyond any reasonable doubt that, they are truly people of impeccable character with the love of the people of Lagos State at heart.”

Olokoba, in retrospect, observed that, Sanwo-Olu has been the harbinger of continuity of Lagos progressive governance started in 1999 by the likes of patriots like Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the first Lagos State democratically elected Executive Governor in the current democratic experiment.

The leader of Coalition of several CSOs, thanked God that has always blessed the state with good and visionary leaders who have, at one time or the other, successfully put the state on an enviable developmental ‘forward match’  which has made it to assume the status of a desired Mega City today.

Concluding, the right activist cum political analyst therefore assure the governor of unflinching support of members of all the CSO, who have been expecting the current development, enthusing that, “Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu (BOS), who has been passing our periodic Integrity Tests all this while will not disappoint the good people of the state who are yearning for more dividends of democracy he has been making available since 2019.”
