A pro good government organization, Campaign for Dignity in Governance (CDG), has expressed the delight and excitement over the collaborative efforts of the Reddington Group in Lagos that gave birth to the Armoured Shield Isolation Centre in the state early this year.
The group, in a statement from its National President, Comrade Razaq Olokoba, also congratulated Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Reddington Group’s Collaborative Efforts at putting up the Armoured Shield Isolation Centre, saying the good gesture was a clear indication that corporate organizations also have confidence in Sanwo-Olu’s administration.
It would be recalled that, on Friday, January 8, 2021, the Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, commissioned an Armoured Shield Isolation Centre in Victoria Island with the assurance that his administration would not backtrack on public health deliverables, especially during the second threat of COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Olokoba, the medical facility, which has the capacity to respond to the global COVID-19 pandemic, is another landmark borne out of the belief of Reddington Hospital Group under the able chairmanship of Dr. Yomi Onabowale in the achievements of the governor in good governance, saying, “this ingenuity of the group calls for accolades and emulation from all well-meaning people and private sectors in Nigeria and beyond.”
According to Olokoba, what makes the Centre more heart-warming is its capability to respond to the potential risk of local transmission of COVID-19 pandemic within the country, enthusing that, “with this development, all Lagosians, albeit, all Nigerians should continue to thank God for giving us somebody like Sanwo-Olu, an administrator that earns the confidence of the people and corporate outfits with the style of his administration that is always people centred.”
The CDG boss, however reminded that, for laudable programme like the inauguration of the centre to be meaningful, there should be collaborative efforts of all the stakeholders to address the threat of COVID-19 pandemic, not only in Lagos but in the country as a whole, admonishing that the people should keep to all the preventive measures put down by the authorities.
Olokoba, who believes that, the protocols are simple and easy to observe reminded that, the measures are wearing of facemask, washing of hands regularly, maintaining social distancing and staying away from huge crowd, stressing the need to support the governor’s good gestures through compliance for the good of all and sundry.
The youthful right activist, who also joined the governor to praise the thoughtfulness of the Reddington Group over the medical edifice, could not agree less that the group’s good gesture is a plus for public and private sector collaboration, adding that, “the praiseworthy development is worthy of emulation especially during this threating second wave that has been medically proved to be more dangerous and deadlier.”
The CDG therefore urged the good people of Lagos to keep on supporting and cooperating with Sanwo-Olu’s administration that has not disappointing them since his enthronement as governor on May 29, 2019, expressing the confidence that, “he will not disappoint us.”
