The Executive Chairman of Orile-Agege Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Akinola Abiodun Idowu, has charged the newly inaugurated Secretary to the Local Government (SLG), Supervisors and Special Advisers to embrace selfless service, uphold accountability and remain committed to people-centred governance.
Idowu gave the charge on Friday, July 31, 2026, during the swearing-in ceremony for the new appointees held at the Council Secretariat, Orile-Agege.
Addressing the officials, the Chairman described their appointments as a call to duty, urging them to justify the confidence reposed in them through dedication, integrity and responsive leadership.
“Today is not merely about taking an oath of office; it is about accepting responsibility. It is about committing yourselves to selfless service and dedicating your efforts to the continued growth and development of Orile-Agege,” he said.
The Chairman congratulated the newly sworn-in officials and expressed confidence in their ability to contribute meaningfully to the administration’s vision.
He urged them to remain accessible to residents, listen to their concerns and ensure that government programmes and policies translate into tangible improvements in the lives of the people.
Reflecting on the administration’s first year in office, Idowu highlighted achievements in infrastructure, education, healthcare, environmental sanitation, youth development and economic empowerment, noting that the interventions had contributed significantly to improving the quality of life across the LCDA.
While acknowledging that more work remained to be done, the Chairman reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustainable development, transparency and inclusive governance.
He reminded the appointees that true leadership is defined by service, humility and integrity, stressing that their success would ultimately be measured by the positive impact they make in the lives of the people.
