The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon (GOS) on his 66th birthday, describing him as a distinguished statesman, accomplished legislator and one of the enduring pillars of progressive politics in the state.
In a statement issued on Thursday by the party’s spokesman, Mr. Seye Oladejo, the APC praised Senator Solomon’s long years of service to Lagos State and the nation, noting that his political career has been marked by consistency, depth of experience and commitment to good governance.
The party recalled Solomon’s tenure as a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as well as his contributions across legislative, administrative and party platforms, which it said continue to serve as reference points for principled leadership. According to the APC, his public service record reflects discipline, clarity of purpose and devotion to the ideals of the progressive movement.
A prominent member of the Lagos State Governance Advisory Council (GAC), Senator Solomon was described as a politician whose journey has been guided by conviction rather than convenience. The party noted that his long-standing alignment with progressive values has remained firm since his entry into politics.
Beyond holding public office, the APC highlighted Solomon’s role as a bridge-builder and mentor within the party, crediting him with providing stability and guidance over the years. His calm disposition, strategic insight and ability to prioritise collective interest above personal ambition were cited as qualities that have earned him respect across generations and political divides.
The party added that at 66, Senator Solomon represents a blend of wisdom, relevance and service, with a legacy that underscores loyalty to ideals and responsible conduct in public life.
The Lagos APC joined family members, friends, associates and admirers in celebrating the milestone and prayed for continued good health, strength and fulfilment for the elder statesman. It expressed confidence that his experience and counsel would continue to benefit the party, Lagos State and Nigeria as a whole.
