…As Council Chairman Endorses President Tinubu for Second Term
…Party Chair Commends Council Chairman for Laudable Performance
The Lagos State Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Pastor Cornelius Oyefolu Ojelabi, members of the State Executive Council, and Royal Fathers on Friday attended the mega empowerment programme of the Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, under the chairmanship of Otunba Kehinde Oloyede-Almaroof, where several working tools were distributed to artisans and vulnerable residents.

The empowerment event, held at the council secretariat, was a cynosure of all eyes as items such as hair dryers, deep freezers, vulcanizing machines, point-of-sale machines, popcorn machines and others were distributed free of charge to vulnerable members of the community carefully selected by a special committee appointed by the council boss.
In his welcome address, the Chairman of the Distribution Committee, Hon. Taiwo Ayedun, commended the council chairman for staying on the path of progress since assuming office.
He explained that the beneficiaries were chosen after an ad-hoc committee verified the claims of indigent applicants, selecting only those who were truly in dire need of support.

He added that the flag-off of the programme, which commenced on Friday, will be concluded on Sunday to prevent rowdiness and stampede due to the large number of beneficiaries.
In his remarks, Otunba Oloyede-Almaroof reeled out the impactful programmes his administration had delivered in its first 100 days in office in his second term.
According to him, “We came into office with a clear mind and vision regarding what we wanted to achieve and how we intended to positively impact the lives of our people. Distinguished party leaders and guests, I dare to say that since we assumed office, we have strictly adhered to the party’s principles and manifesto, and today’s event is yet another testimony to that commitment.”

He highlighted the completion of 50 roads in his first term, the construction of 45 boreholes for residents, and the distribution of over 12,000 GCE and JAMB forms.
In the health sector, he stated that two ambulance buses had been procured, postnatal kits distributed, and the Ogunoloko Primary Health Centre rehabilitated. He added that reconstruction works at Ogunlana Health Centre were ongoing, and upon completion, the facility would be equipped with surgical wards, a pharmacy, and other essential medical equipment.
He also mentioned his administration’s interventions through the provision of food items, cash gifts and festive packages to residents, elderly citizens and traders.

Otunba Oloyede-Almaroof further commended the positive strides of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly the increment of federal allocations to local governments, and consequently endorsed the president for a second term in office. The announcement received loud applause, as he noted that the positive effects of the president’s policies were already trickling down to local governments, enabling councils to deliver infrastructural development and cater to their people.
He added that in line with the endorsement, the newly constructed party office would soon be commissioned.
He listed the items for distribution as deep freezers, sewing machines, grinding machines, popcorn machines, makeup kits, generating sets, barbing kits, POS machines with customized stands, burners, gas cylinders, vulcanizing machines and hair dryers. He also announced that one hundred motorcycles (Okada) would be distributed to beneficiaries before Christmas.
Beneficiaries expressed their appreciation to the chairman for his benevolence and assured proper use of the tools received.
Pastor Ojelabi commended the council chairman, describing the projects as laudable and outstanding, adding that history would be kind to him.
He further praised the council chairman’s endorsement of President Tinubu, noting that he is the first local government chairman to openly endorse the president for a second term.
The party chairman said he is proud of Otunba Oloyede-Almaroof’s performance, adding that his work aligns fully with the party’s manifesto.
