The Executive Chairman of Eti-Osa Local Government, Omo’ba Adeola Alimot Adetoro, has inaugurated the 2026 Budget Retreat, setting the tone for a new fiscal year anchored on strategic planning and community resilience.

The three-day retreat, themed “Budget of Vision: Building Resilient Communities,” is holding at Daval Spring Hotel, Ikorodu, and has in attendance political office holders, management staff, heads of departments and units, as well as key stakeholders across the local government.

Designed as a platform for critical evaluation and forward planning, the retreat will focus on reviewing departmental and unit budget proposals, assessing performance indicators from the outgoing year, and developing realistic, result-oriented targets for 2026.

The process is also aimed at strengthening transparency, promoting fiscal discipline, and ensuring effective and accountable allocation of public resources.

In her keynote address, Chairman Adetoro highlighted key milestones recorded by her administration within its first three months in office, including the hosting of a summer vocational coaching programme, the distribution of free GCE forms to students, and the organization of a free medical outreach for residents.

She reaffirmed her commitment to the council’s 6-point HEYIGA agenda—Health, Education, Youth and Women Empowerment, Infrastructure, Greener Environment, and Agriculture—urging participants to bring dedication, sacrifice, and courage to the budget process in order to deliver impactful outcomes for the people by the end of 2026.

The retreat is expected to be highly interactive and goal-driven, with a strong emphasis on deepening inter-departmental collaboration, sharpening the collective vision of the council, and reinforcing the shared commitment to accelerating development across Eti-Osa Local Government.
