The Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Aare Taoheed Adebayo Taiwo, has reassured residents that the socio-economic development of the area will remain a top priority under his administration.

He also pledged to sustain periodic empowerment programmes for residents, regardless of religion, ethnicity, or political affiliation, in order to promote unity and foster collaboration among the people of Ejigbo.

Aare Taoheed gave this assurance during the Renewed Hope/Idera Oluwade 2025 Mega Empowerment Programme held at the frontage of the Council Secretariat, Ejigbo.

The Chairman explained that the empowerment initiative, which featured four categories, was designed to cushion the impact of the fuel subsidy removal by the Federal Government on residents.

He expressed optimism that the beneficiaries would soon become employers of labour, noting that the selection process was based strictly on merit. He, however, appealed to the beneficiaries not to sell the empowerment materials given to them.

In his remarks, the Lagos APC Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, commended the council for aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda and for prioritising the welfare of residents.

He noted that the event was a fulfillment of promises made during the July 12th council election and urged residents to continue supporting the policies and programmes of the Chairman.

Pastor Ojelabi also encouraged residents to take advantage of the ongoing Permanent Voter Registration (PVC) exercise, emphasizing that their love for the President and the party would only be meaningful if they possessed valid voter cards.

According to him, Ejigbo LCDA was the first to host the full party executive within 100 days in office, and he urged the Chairman to sustain the impressive pace of development. He also commended traditional rulers for their consistent support of the party and the council.

Speaking earlier, the Council Manager, Pastor Olusegun Olumide Ajaguna, stated that the initiative was designed to empower residents to become self-reliant rather than perpetual dependants.

He added that one of the core priorities of the new administration is to enhance economic productivity among residents to ensure they enjoy the dividends of democracy.

About 500 residents benefited from the Renewed Hope Mega Empowerment Programme, which was categorized into Cash for Business Support, Start-Up Funds, and Business Tools Support.

Items distributed to beneficiaries included chest freezers, generating sets, popcorn machines, grinding machines, hairdressing dryers, sewing machines, and POS machines.

Dignitaries present at the event included former member of the National Assembly, Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon; Lagos APC Vice Chairman, Mr. Moshood Mayegun; and traditional rulers such as the Osolo of Isolo, Oba Isa Abiodun Olakunle Faronbi-Shekoni Mobadenle Arolagbade Alagbeji III, and His Royal Majesty, Oba Morufu Adisa Adekunle Ojoola, JP, the Ojon of Ejigbo and Ijan Land.
