In a bold and determined effort to tackle the pressing issue of insecurity in Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye, Hon. Seyi Jakande, the Executive Chairman of the LCDA, has established a special task force dedicated to the “Protection of Lives and Property of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye Residents.” This initiative embodies his visionary HEWA Agenda, which strives to enhance safety and security in our beloved community.

Last Tuesday, the 29th of July, the Chairman convened a pivotal gathering with the Peace and Security Committee of the LCDA, bringing together leaders from various security agencies. In this united front, all stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to work hand-in-hand to combat insecurity and protect the community.

The Chairman immediately constituted a joint taskforce team that consists of representatives from Mushin Police Division, Ilupeju Police Division, Alakara Police Division, the Department of State Security, Lagos Neighborhood Safety Corps, Odi-Olowo Transportation and Environmental Corps (OTEC), the Hunter Group of Nigeria, and the Vigilante Group, all united in the mission to restore peace and security.

This initiative directly responds to the urgent security challenges faced at the Ogunmokun Street flyover bridge.

Jakande led the 22-member Joint Taskforce, joined by the Council’s Chief Security Officer, Azeez Mustapha, to the location last night.

He has articulated clear and determined mandates for this task force, aimed at swiftly addressing the security concerns in the area.

As of this report, some suspects have been apprehended early this morning and taken into custody.

Through this proactive and inspiring approach, Hon. Jakande is resolutely focused on restoring peace and safety to the residents of Odi-Olowo/Ojuwoye, ensuring a secure environment for all, and fulfilling his campaign promise.
