The spirit of excellence and camaraderie was on full display as the Gentlemen’s Circle of Yaba College of Technology (YCT) Accountancy Alumni (ND 94/HND 98) honoured one of their own, Ayo Adeonipekun, with a Distinguished Leadership Award for his Exemplary Leadership and Transformative Impact in Financial Markets.
The event, which was marked by elegance, emotion, and unity, drew accolades from dignitaries and alumni members, with Hon. Sunday Olowa leading the chorus of praise.
In his congratulatory message, Hon. Olowa described the event as a proud and defining moment for the alumni group, noting the meticulous planning and flawless execution that made it a memorable experience.
“I have no doubt that we are proud today! Our actions today are exemplary and inspiring,” he said. “Congratulations, my people. Some of our ladies called me after the event to express their delight at how the Gentlemen’s Circle handled the programme—from planning to execution and delivery. They said although the idea was initiated by the women, the men have taken it to the next level.”
Hon. Olowa also noted that one attendee even described the turnout as more impressive than previous Annual General Meetings (AGMs), a testament to the commitment and passion of the alumni group.
He extended heartfelt congratulations not just to Ayo Adeonipekun, but also to other celebrated members including Dr. Yemi Sanni and the ever-dedicated Madam Ruth Okunbor, whom he described as “our superb woman.”
“I pray more of our mates will continue to shine and do even greater things to inspire the next EXPERIENCE,” Olowa added.
