As Muslim faithful around the world mark the celebration of Eid al-Adha, Commissioner at the Lagos State House of Assembly Service Commission, Hon. K.K Alidu, has extended warm greetings to the Muslim Ummah, calling for continued reflection on the values of sacrifice, faith, and compassion.
In a goodwill message released to commemorate the Islamic festival, Hon. Alidu congratulated Muslims on witnessing yet another season of devotion and reaffirmed the significance of the occasion in the life of every believer.
“This sacred occasion reminds us of the profound sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and the unshakable faith in the will of Almighty Allah,” he stated. “Eid al-Adha teaches us the importance of patience, submission, and compassion, values that should guide our everyday interactions.”
Hon. Alidu prayed for the acceptance of all acts of worship, sacrifices, and supplications, while also invoking Allah’s blessings for good health, abundant provisions, and peace of mind for all.
He urged Muslims and all residents of Lagos State to use the opportunity of the festival to promote unity, strengthen family bonds, and show love to the less privileged.
“May your homes be filled with joy, your hearts with gratitude, and your spirits with the light of divine blessings. May the bonds of love and unity among us grow stronger, and may Lagos State and Nigeria as a whole continue to enjoy peace, progress, and prosperity,” he said.
He concluded his message with a traditional prayer: “Taqabbalallahu minna wa minkum”, meaning “May Allah accept it from us and from you.”
The Eid message is coming at a time when Nigerians are urged to remain steadfast in faith and hopeful for better days, despite prevailing challenges.
