The Chairman stated this at the 12th edition of Subsidy Removal Palliative and Community Food Market for residents of the council.

He said the program is in tandem with the THEMES Agenda of the administration of Governor Sanwo-Olu.

Alade Folawiyo commended the Legislative Arm of the council and the management for their sacrifices in ensuring the sustainability of the program.

He implored residents to extend hands of fellowship and love to one another in the spirit of the yuletide season.

The council boss noted that he was glad that Governor Sanwo-Olu launched the pilot scheme of Fresh Food Agric Hub in the Mushin area of the state aimed at reducing wastage and the cost of food items in the state.

Some residents, Alhaja Rahmat Raheem and Wale Onikoyi, who benefited from the program, commended the passion with which the council remained committed to the program.

They stressed the need for other council chairmen to emulate the program towards the reduction of hunger and poverty in the state.

Some of the food items sold to residents at subsidized rates include yam, rice, garri, beans, eggs, palm oil, pepper, and live chicken.
