A motorist killed three female teachers in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Monday.
The accident occurred at Alapako, opposite the office of the Ogunmakin unit of the Federal Road Safety Corps end of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
One of them was said to be a teacher in a public school at Ajebo, Abeokuta.
The fourth victim was said to have sustained some injuries.
PUNCH Metro learnt that the teachers were standing by the roadside after school hours when the Toyota Camry with the number plate, EPE 140 BP, ran into them.
The Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, Babatunde Akinbiyi, said the driver lost control of the car, “when one of the front tyres of the speeding car pulled out.”
He said, “The injured person was taken to a hospital, while the corpses of the three victims were deposited in a morgue.”
Akinbiyi also said a truck crushed a boy to death in the Ewekoro end of the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway on Tuesday.
He said, “The victim was trying to cross the road with his mother when the truck, whose driver was contesting the road with another truck, killed him.”
