French Ligue 1 side, OGC Nice, are leading the race to sign Terem Moffi this January window after they put in an improved offer of €20m for the Super Eagles striker, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Nice had already offered €15m and €18m respectively, but both offers were rejected by Lorient.
Ouest-France has reported that the Les Aiglons have now offered a deal estimated at €20m with €17m paid upfront and €3m worth of bonuses for the Nigerian striker who has notched 12 goals in 18 Ligue 1 games this term making him the division’s joint top scorer, just one goal behind Paris Saint-Germain star and 2022 World Cup golden boot winner Kylian Mbappe.
A physical, fast and powerful forward, Moffi scored 35 goals in 90 games since his arrival in Brittany two years ago for an €8m fee.
His contract expires in 2024.
Meanwhile, West Ham United submitted a bid worth £20m to sign Lorient striker Moffi earlier this week, rising to £25m in potential add-ons.
But PUNCH Sports Extra gathered that Moffi is keen to stay in France, with Nice said to be interested in him. A lot of change is going on at present in West Ham’s forward line.
With Danny Ings close to joining the Hammers from Aston Villa and Michail Antonio linked with interest from both Wolverhampton Wanderers and Everton.
