The House of Representatives has passed a resolution to investigate the circumstances leading to the killing of Barrister Bolanle Raheem in Ajah area of Lagos.
The female lawyer was killed by a trigger happy policeman under Ajah Bridge on Christmas Day.
Hon Ibrahim Obanikoro representing Eti Osa Federal Constituency in the lower chamber presented the issue on the floor today under matter of public importance.
The House also resolved that all officers involved in the act should be prosecuted with a view to getting justice for the deceased while the police authority stop officers from taking alcohol while on duty.
Our correspondent reports that the House later observed a minute silence in honour of the deceased.
You will recall that President Muhammadu Buhari, the Nigeria Bar Association and other prominent Nigerians have also condemned the murder of the lawyer while calling for accelerated prosecution of the killer cop.
