…hails monarch as custodian of Yoruba culture, symbol of unity
The Centre Against Injustice and Domestic Violence (CAIDOV) has congratulated the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, on his birthday, describing him as a custodian of Yoruba culture and tradition and a symbol of unity, peace and progress.
In a congratulatory message signed by its Executive Director, Gbenga Soloki, the organisation described the Ooni as a highly revered royal father, bridge builder and a monarch who has used his throne to promote unity and peaceful coexistence across Nigeria.
CAIDOV said Oba Ogunwusi had redefined royalty through his humility, wisdom and youthful vibrancy, adding that his reign had brought peace, cultural renaissance and global recognition to Ile-Ife.
The organisation commended the monarch for promoting unity among the Yoruba, fostering peaceful coexistence among Nigerians and championing youth empowerment and development.
It also praised his commitment to preserving Yoruba heritage, philanthropic initiatives, advocacy for good governance and community development, noting that these values align with CAIDOV’s objectives.
“As you celebrate today, we pray to Almighty Olodumare and the ancestors to grant you many more years on the throne in sound health, divine wisdom and immeasurable grace.
“May your reign continue to bring prosperity to Ile-Ife, Yorubaland and Nigeria at large.
“May your throne never lack an heir. Igba Odun, Odun Kan!” the statement added.
