As part of activities to commemorate
this year’s World Food Day, a day set aside by the United Nation, a Non Governmental Organisation, Foodclique Support Initiative has charged well meaning Nigerians to imbibe the culture of giving to avoid food wastage in the society.
Head of Operations, Foodclique Support Initiative, SUNKANMI OLADEJO, made the pledge at the World Food Day feast distribution of ten thousand meals at three locations in Lagos including, Lagos Island, Lekki and Shomolu axis.
According to him the steps is imperative for concern individuals to extend their helping hands to vulnerables in the society as well as sensitising the public against wastage of foods, saying such which has become the norms during parties can serve as good meal to those in need.
On his part, the Media Coordinator of Foodclique Support Initiative, Faruq Adetola, said that Foodclique Support Initiative is prepared to join hands with Government to eradicate hunger in the land.
He urged Government and policymakers to inculcate the habit of giving as well as put in place deliberate policies to address food scarcity and wastage in the country.
One of the beneficiaries, Femi Onabanjo, thanked the Foodclique Support Initiative for the gesture towards the less privileges in the society.
