In continuation of what has become a laudable fashion by the Lagos state government, during religious festivities and celebrations across faiths, the Arewa community Lagos state was again feted with large supplies of Rams, bagged rice, condiments and finances for use in the merriment and celebrations of the year 2022, Eid El Kabir festival.
Delivering the goods through individual local government leaderships of the Arewa community across Lagos, state chairman of the Arewa community, who doubles as the honorable commissioner, ministry of waterfront infrastructure development, Lagos state, Arc. Ahmed Kabiru Abdullahi, averred that, the provision was a commendable gesture by Mr. Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu, the executive governor of Lagos, who he described as an advocate of practical kindness and oneness.
Speaking further, the commissioner, recalled how governor Sanwoolu, has continued to reinforce a tradition and spirit of a united community, regardless of faith or ethnic difference amongst Lagos residents .
It is expected that, these supplies will go a long way in cushioning our needs through the merriments of the Sallah festival, the commissioner had said during the distribution; calling on members to celebrate with utmost restraint in line with the teachings of Islam.
In conclusion, the commissioner, joined by the Lagos state secretary of the Arewa community, Alhaji Musa Saleh, thanked the governor profusely for the outstanding gesture and support, assuring that, the Arewa community shall continue to give it maximum support towards the Mr. Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu government’s overall success.
