A pro-Lagos youth organization, Pan-Lagos Youth Movement has taken a critical look at the conduct, antecedence and pedigree of the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and declared that, “he is a loyal disciple and trusted party man to the core.”
The remarks were contained in a statement signed by the Convener of the Movement, Comrade Adewale Oladipupo and made available to the media in Lagos Monday where he said that, “the way the governor sticks to his mentor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu during thick and thin is an indication that, he is a person that could not betray trust, even when he is not under secret watch of any agent.”
According to the statement, Sanwo-Oluis the type of man that can be entrusted with mandate and would deliver to the letter no matter the circumstance, adding that, “since the time he was presented to the party for the 2019 election till date, he has not looked back, rather, he has been keeping his eyes on the ball and the result has been marvellous.”
The statement further revealed his attitude to his party’s constituted authority so much that, he was not so desperate or being too forward towards his second term in office until he got the green light from the Governance Advisory Council (GAC), the apex decision making of the All Progressives Congress (GAC), Lagos State chapter, observing that, “some other people in his position could have become swollen headed because of his laudable performance.”
Describing the governor as a cool-headed and humble personality, the Movement observed that, “even with his satisfactory achievements in office since 2019, Sanwo-Olu has never been unnecessarily been too loud and lousy about it,” stating that, “rather, he still humbly keeps a low profile and allow the people and his achievements speak for him, a situation that has made him the cynosure of all eyes in the state, across the country and beyond.”
Against this backdrop, the Movement therefore stressed the need for the people to rally more support for him as a form of appreciation for all the above mentioned attribute to encourage him to do more and to convince him that they are appreciative of his good gesture to humanity through provision of dividends of democracy indiscriminately to the people of the state.
The statement concluded by reminding the importance of returning Sanwo-Olu for a second term in office with their votes next year, asserting that, “the best way to assure Sanwo-Olu that all his people oriented programmes are appreciated and that they need more.”
