A pro-labour Non-Governmental Organization, Labour & Workers Welfare Advocacy Centre, has hinted that Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), would soon start to receive visitors, who could be better described as Patriotic Invaders.
Leader of the NGO, Comrade Omobanke Razak, in a media chat in Badagry Wednesday evening said the objective of the organization is about the delay of the Minister to declare presidential ambition against 2023, saying, “our patience is thinning out because the time is going and we are not comfortable anymore.”
When reminded that, nobody can force anybody to contest against his wish, Omobanke said, in democracy, it is permitted for the citizenry the right to voice out and be listened to, saying, “what we are talking about here is patriotism, meaning desiring the best for one’s country and his people.”
Speaking further, the youthful activist who explained that, “we are more interested in Fashola’s presidency perhaps more than anybody else because of its value to the Labour Body and the generality of the Nigerian workforce,” disclosed that, “the volume of jobs that his two ministries dished out to the public as a minister makes us believe that, as a president, he will do more.”
According to him, sensitisation is going on across the country to let the people now the benefits they will enjoy under Fashola’s presidency so they can see the need to put all hands on deck to ensure this performer of a person joins the race for president next year.
“It is a patriotic call on him to serve the people. it is not a selfish venture. And we harbour the belief that, Fashola would harken to the patriotic call to serve his people on a higher level. We believe he can do it because he has done it before as governor and still doing it as minister. So his pedigree and antecedence have given all Nigerians the assurance that he can do it this time as president,” Omobanke submitted.
The visit to him, Omobanke added, can be in Lagos, Abuja or any other places like London or America, saying as an international man, he should know he has no hiding place and so, he should be expecting the whole of well-meaning Nigerians at his doorstep any time from now.
“I can assure you the visit would be a landmark that would yield the expected positive response from the ‘political rave of the moment and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola (BRF)’, adding that the invitation for the visit is open to all patriotic Nigerians who share our belief in Fashola’s capability of steering the ship of this country to an Eldorado after his workaholic boss, President Muhammadu Buhari.
