An advocacy group, Labour & Workers Welfare Advocacy Centre, has commenced collation of vital achievements of the former Lagos State Governor and currently the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), in preparation for the 2023 presidential election.
Leader of the Centre, Comrade Razak Omobanke in a chat with our reporter in Ikorodu Wednesday said, though the Minister has not told anybody that he would run for the President in 2023, we just decided to do the needful in case he eventually makes up his mind to throw his hat unto the presidential race ring, saying, we wuld not want to be caught unaware should he come up with a presidential ambition.
According to him, his organization just feels it would amount to a patriotic action wishing the country well by joining hands with other well-meaning Nigerians across board in search of the best material for the country to occupy Aso Villa after President Muhammadu Buhari, making it clear that, “we are just volunteers for a good cause for Nigeria and not paid political sycophants.
Omobanke, who did not deny the fact that Nigeria has several competent hands, who are also eminently qualified to succeed President Buhari, however informed that, one can showcase a material known to him and not material known to other people, asserting that, with our knowledge of Fashola since his days as a player at the state level, we are convinced that he is an undisputable quailed hand to move the country from where the outgoing man would stop.
The youthful activist revealed that some people who root for Fashola for 2023 have never met him but are just acting on the basis of his good works all over the place, expressing the delights that, the Senior Advocate himself has market himself through his performance and concrete achievement that are verifiable across the country.
Omobanke therefore challenged whoever believes that Fashola can do it to start his or independent enlightenment programmes towards sensitizing the populace on the need to have Fashola as the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria from May, 29, 2023.
“We want to show the people that, you can serve your country as a patriotic citizen by assisting to fish out good materials for all levels of government with a view to bettering the future of the nation, asserting that, “this could be done without being a card carrying member of any political party,” the Centre leader sermonised.
