The gathering aims to engage the young generation on aspirations and ways of getting feedback on how his government has performed so far since he assumed office.

The meeting also consolidates on stimulating an insight of liberation as crucial to sustainably improve the lives of the youth.

At the beginning of the conversation with the youth, Odunmbaku encouraged them to freely express themselves and also challenge themselves and learn from each other.

“Let’s challenge ourselves and learn from each other, am here to take your questions, feel free to ask me anything, those in the Diaspora are watching us live” Odunmbaku urged the youth.

Onitiju Oluwashola, one of the youth participants at the event, persuaded the council boss to take it as a matter of urgency to address the isblem of shortage of doctors at the Primary Health Centres in Ojodu.

“Mr Chairman Sir, we are glad you one of us (youth), there are facilities at our Primary Health Centres across Ojodu but the only challenge we are having is lack of doctors, no rationale for having the State of the Heart equipment and not to have doctors that will utilize them,” she said.

Another participant, Dele Ajasa, enjoined Odunmbaku to return life to Ojodu. “I don’t want to be irrational and selfish, for me what we need presently in Ojodu is a Mini stadium where we can play inter-wards competitions,” he said.

An education activist, Kafi Omowunmi Abbas, implored the council Chairman to assist widows in Ojodu. “You need to help Ojodu widows, you can get the children uniforms, exercise books and other equipment, but I won’t be happy with myself if I did not ask you for school buses for the children, getting them buses will go a long way,” she said.

Responding to questions from participants, the council boss said: “Before the end of this administration, we’ll reduce flooding to the barest minimum.”

“We’ll upgrade and look into our health care centres and equipped them as well as upgrade our public toilets.”

On the need to move along with technology in the 21st century, Odunmbaku said: “If you are graduating without information technology, you wasting your time, you have to move with the trend, we are in the time of technology, in this case, we’ll upgrade our Shogunro centre to ICT hub.”

“At the ICT hub, people will be able to learn about Artificial Intelligence, robotics and software engineering for 9 months, as you graduating, we’ll be fixing you somewhere.”

“With these IT courses, we’ll provide you the right tools to strive in your respective field of work,” he concluded.

The council boss while concluding his remark, saluted Nigerians on the celebration of 61st Independence Day. “On this day, we reminiscence about our struggles towards the liberation of the “pride and giant of Africa” and celebrate the birth of freedom and sovereignty.”

“It is a day to emphasize and reaffirm the tenets upon which the structure of our dear nation was built.”

“Peaceful coexistence, without strife, acrimony, divisiveness or prejudice; unity in diversity; hope for a better future; dutifulness and each contributing his developmental quota in ensuring a prosperous society; hospitality, dedication and selflessness amongst others.”
