A pro-Labour activist, Comrade Omobanke Razak, has commended Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s initiative against the second wave of COVID-19 in the state, stating that, the step was imperative for the survival and wellbeing of the people.

Omolabake, who is the convener of the Labour & Workers Welfare Advocacy Center (LWWA), in a chat with newsmen in Lagos weekend said, the timely observation of the governor that prompted him to dish out preventive measures is another testimony to his being a sensitive administrator to the aspiration of the people.

According to him, only a leader with foresight would take such a drastic preventive measure before the reappearance of the monster, saying, with the belief from the medical experts that its second wave could be deadlier; Sanwo-Olu deserves a pat on the back as a leader with milk of human kindness in his heart.

Speaking further, the Lagos based right crusader added that, the governor, with the steps already taken to forestall the second coming of the killer monster has proved himself to be a leader, who is always at alert to his responsibility for the welfare of his people, stretching the need to give him kudos for his action on the subject matter because, according to the activist, a stich in time saves nine.

“Sanwo-Olu’s action would no doubt go a long way to curtail the spread of the disease with lethal punch and thereby save humanity from calamity, reminding that, with Lagos as a gateway to the country, the preventive measures in place would incapacitate the sickness at the point of arrival.

“Sanwo-Olu has therefore put in place measures that could prevent minority contacts that could eventually snowball into majority contacts. And since the governor has taken the preventive steps for the good of his people, the rest lies in their hands to reciprocate such a good gesture by observing to the letter, all the preventive measures he put in place out for their own good.

“And going by the governor’s observation, He added that the governor has observed, it was the lackadaisical conducts of majority of the people towards the preventive measures initially put in place by the authority that caused a second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. We should therefore, for the sake of general survival and safety, observe the measures to the letter,” Omobanke submitted.

The medical and economic downturn, he continued, would be more devastating than the first experience and thus make survival and comfort, warning that, at this point, the peoples could not be complacent because it could be a dangerous suicide mission that would not do anybody any good.

At this point, Omobanke advised the people to heed the governor’s directives very seriously by observing all the preventive measures to disallow national tragedy, disclosing that, the advanced countries in the world that are medically ahead of us are already lucking down.

He therefor urged the people to observe the all the rules of social distancing, washing of hands, using of sanitizers, avoiding crowded places, using of mask and keeping personal hygienic rules, reminding that, prevention is cheaper and better than cure just as a stich in time saves nine for people are patriotically sensible.
