Honourable Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), has been reported to have again passed the Integrity Test for the last quarter of 2020. The Integrity Test is a periodical assessment of public figures holding offices by an organization that goes by the name, Campaign for Dignity in Governance (CDG).
A statement signed by the CDG’s National President, Comrade Razaq Olokoba disclosed that, the workaholic Minister has not relented in his efforts at making his today better than yesterday, saying, since his day as Chief of Staff to the former Governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to his time as Lagos Governor till date as a minister, he has been moving forward always.
According to him, there are others who have also been passing the group’s integrity test; Fashola’s constant topping of the chart is so heart-warming that he could not be ignored, promising that, in due course, names of other notable winners of the test would be made public.
Olokoba, in the statement disclosed that, the assessment of those in the public and other offices are carried out by unbiased independent professionals who use their world standard parameters to arrive at their conclusion on the performances of the people in question before presenting their findings to a board for ratification.
In the case of Fashola, the statement informed that, his uninterrupted focus, his superb dedication and unwavering commitment to infrastructure development of the country served as an added advantage to his assessment adding that, his road network has contributed in no small measure to the growth of economy in the country.
The purpose of the Integrity Test, Olokoba explained that, “it is neither to bring down anybody, give unmerited credit to anybody nor for any pecuniary gains, but to ginger up the performers and encourage others to emulate the performers.”
The CDG boss is of the conviction that, stirring up healthy competition in governance with a view to encouraging performance would do the country a lot of good, saying, since democracy is about the good of the citizenry, anything that can promote and guarantee such is a welcome idea.
He therefore urged Fashola to put more effort in the good work he is doing to sustain the confidence the people repose in him as an achiever reminding him that, reward for a good work is a clarion call for more good works.
