The political tempo in Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency rose on Tuesday as apex leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) hosted frontline House of Representatives aspirant, Comrade Ayodele Adewale, in a strategic meeting that signaled growing momentum ahead of the party’s primaries.
The high-level engagement, held at the Apex leaders’ secretariat in Festac Town, Lagos, brought together influential party stakeholders who offered prayers, counsel, and political direction to the aspirant as he intensifies consultations across the constituency.
Presiding over the meeting, Chairman of the Apex body and former Executive Chairman of Amuwo Odofin Local Government, Prince Rasheed Otolorin, alongside Alhaja Memunat Ajao, emphasised the need for unity, discipline, and sustained grassroots engagement within the party.
The gathering attracted a strong lineup of party stalwarts, including Chief Dotun Adegbola, Chief Mrs. Omotanwa Olusi, Chief Shajobi, Otunba Banjo Ayeni, Alhaji Libari Oseni, Chief Dayo Ariyo, Mrs. Lyndia Otejeh, Chief Aberuagba, Alhaji Okeshina, Alhaji Shanu, Alhaja Ariyo, Mrs. Francis, and Mr. Elebute Abiodun, the APC Chairman in the local government.
Also present were former APC Chairman, Mr. Ayo Ogungbiye; Mr. Ajayi; Alhaji Tijani; and Hon. Sunday Adedeji, while Prince Sultan Adeniji Adele made a brief appearance before attending to other engagements.
In their remarks, the leaders urged Adewale to remain steadfast in his outreach efforts, stressing that broad-based consultation and loyalty to party structure would be critical to success at the primaries.
Responding, Adewale expressed gratitude for the reception and guidance, assuring the leaders of his commitment to inclusiveness and effective representation. He pledged to prioritise development, empowerment, and responsive legislation for the people of Amuwo Odofin Federal Constituency.
A former Executive Chairman of Amuwo Odofin Local Government, Adewale also drew attention to his extensive political and organisational experience, having served as APC Lagos State Organising Secretary and Coordinator of the party’s E-Registration Exercise, during which Lagos recorded the highest figures nationwide.
His background further spans key roles in national democratic movements, including the Pro-National Conference Organisation (PRONACO), the June 12 Coalition, and the Citizens Forum, as well as leadership positions in the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and the Lagos State University Students’ Union Government.
