The political landscape in Ibeju-Lekki Federal Constituency witnessed a surge of excitement and renewed confidence as leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) unanimously endorsed the incumbent member of the House of Representatives, Adebayo Balogun, for a third term in office.
The endorsement, which took place on April 12, attracted a large turnout of party faithful, political leaders, and supporters who gathered to demonstrate unity and solidarity ahead of the forthcoming general elections. The atmosphere across the constituency reflected widespread enthusiasm, as party stalwarts reaffirmed their confidence in Balogun’s leadership and representation.
Among the notable figures present were Tola Kasali and Bode Oyedele, who publicly raised the lawmaker’s hands in a symbolic show of endorsement. Their gesture drew loud cheers from party members, underscoring broad acceptance of his candidacy.
Speaking on behalf of the party leadership, stakeholders highlighted Balogun’s record in office, pointing to various developmental initiatives and infrastructural projects executed during his tenure. Also speaking, Mojeed Fatai, a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Ibeju-Lekki Constituency I, commended the party leadership for what he described as a transparent and strategic decision-making process. He noted that both direct primaries and consensus options were considered, with the eventual endorsement reflecting the collective will of party members.
In her remarks, Adetoun Balogun expressed gratitude to party leaders and constituents for their continued support. She assured residents of sustained community engagement and improved delivery of democratic benefits if her husband is re-elected.
Other party stakeholders echoed similar sentiments, describing Balogun as a dependable and experienced leader capable of delivering more dividends of democracy.
